How do I cover a large sliding glass door but still let light in?

I’m getting an apartment with a large sliding glass door in the bedroom. When the blinds are open, you can see right in from other rooms, so I want to cover it somehow, yet still be able to let a lot of outside light in.

There is a material sold for “frosting” bathroom windows for this reason. You can probably find it at home centers or bed and bath places. It is also sold in some hardware stores and catalogs of tacky home accessories.
