TRANSFER PUMP Q & A

What type of sump pump would you recommend for outdoor drainage?
My backyard is saturated with water so I dug a ditch along the back property line approx. 2′ x 2′ x 90′ long. By my calculations that’s about 2700 gal of water capacity. Due to property constraints I need to move this water another 210′ to my front yard drainage ditch so a garden hose is the only practical (economical) way to transfer this water. What sump pump would best do the job, electric or gas? What power rating?
I think gas is the way to go. Electric will be cheaper, but I’d be worried about moving much water very quickly. Here is a link to what I think you’d need but if you don’t want to spend that much, you may need to stick with electric.
